Frequently Asked Questions
I'm not flexible - is yoga for me?
Absolutely! You don't need to be flexible to practise yoga. You may become more flexible with a regular yoga practice but there's so much more to yoga. Whether you're interested in building strength, increasing your mobility, soothing your mind or working on your flexibility yoga has something to offer you.

Where should I start? Which class is right for me?
If you're looking to improve your mobility, relax and balance all the activity in your life with some quiet time and stillness, yin yoga is a great place to start. If you're completely new to yoga I'd suggest you start with a 1-2-1 session so that you can learn the basics in a session designed just for you. If you're not sure, get in touch and I'll be happy to help.

Do I need to book?
Most classes need to be booked in advance to secure your place. You can book classes at both Studio One Yoga and Growth & Gratitude via their website - see here.

What should I wear?
Wear something that you feel comfortable in and that allows you to move freely. For yin yoga it's advisable to wear layers and to bring a pair of socks so that you stay cosy during the practice.
What should I bring?
Mats are available to use but as you practise more, you may wish to invest in your own. Other props are also available, including blankets and blocks, but you're always welcome bring whatever you wish to help you in your practice.

Do you teach private classes?
Yes! They're a fantastic way to take your practice further, to work on particular poses or sequence, if you can't make it to a group class or you simply prefer to practice at your own pace and in your own time. Get in touch for more information.

How do I find you?
My group classes take place at Growth and Gratitude in Houghton and Studio One Yoga in Standish . There's car parking to the front of Growth and Gratitude. There's also car parking around the centre of Standish, including free parking at Quakers Place.
